A guide to adding your equipment to Whip Around

Add equipment from the list page.

Log into the Whip Around dashboard. Navigate to the Equipment module using the menu bar on the left side menu. Select the + Add Equipment button.


We recommend adding a photo of the asset to make it easy to identify at a glance throughout the platform.

You can add the following information to equipment

  • Equipment name

  • Equipment photo

  • Serial no.

  • Type

Note: Type can be added and changed from the settings page

  • Brand

  • Model

  • Status

    • In service (default)

    • Out of service

    • Missing

    • Disposed

  • Linked asset

  • Purchase Vendor

Note: A Vendor must have equipment enabled to be available to be selected

  • Purchase Date

  • Warranty expiration date

  • Description

  • Documents

Note: Equipment cannot be saved until you have added a name, type, and status.​

Once you're done adding all the equipment information, select the Add Equipment button at the bottom of the page to save all of the the details

You can use the search function to find the equipment again on the equipment list page.




Adding equipment types

You can add equipment types from the settings page, under admin settings.

We have created some pre-defined equipment types for your convenience.
You can create, edit and delete equipment types and see how many pieces of equipment are assigned to each type from this page.
