In Whip Around, Equipment is a module that lets you track and manage non-vehicle physical items your fleet relies on - things like tools, generators, pumps, safety gear, or any other gear that isn't a vehicle or trailer but still needs to be accounted for.
🔗 How It Fits Into the Platform
Equipment lives alongside the Assets module (which covers vehicles, trailers, facilities, etc.) but is its own dedicated section. You can link a piece of equipment to an asset - for example, linking a fire extinguisher to a specific truck - so you always know what equipment belongs where.

Available to Managers and Admins on the web platform
Requires the Fixed Unlimited plan
Adding Equipment:
Log into the Whip Around dashboard. Navigate to the Equipment module using the menu bar on the left side menu. Select the + Add Equipment button.
We recommend adding a photo of the asset to make it easy to identify at a glance throughout the platform.
What you can track:
Equipment name and photo for easy identification
Serial number, brand, and model
Type (customizable - you can create your own equipment types in Settings)
Status - In Service, Out of Service, Missing, or Disposed
Linked asset - tie equipment to a specific vehicle or asset
Purchase vendor, purchase date, and warranty expiration date (A vendor must have equipment enabled to be available to be selected)
Description and documents
Note: Equipment cannot be saved until you have added a name, type, and status.
Once you're done adding all the equipment information, select the Add Equipment button at the bottom of the page to save all of the the details
You can use the search function to find the equipment again on the equipment list page.
Adding Equipment Types:
You can add equipment types from the settings page, under admin settings.
We have created some pre-defined equipment types for your convenience.
You can create, edit and delete equipment types and see how many pieces of equipment are assigned to each type from this page.
