Managing defects on the mobile app for drivers

Overview

This guide covers the defects experience for drivers. The workflow is largely the same as the Manager's guide β€” refer to that for full details on browsing defects, custom fields, commenting, and creating manual defects.

However, drivers has a different set of permissions and so they are restricted from being able to perform certain tasks. The following differences apply to drivers:

Updating Defect Status

Standard drivers cannot update defect status. The Update Status button will not be visible in the defect details view.

If your driver has been granted a user profile with elevated permissions, you will see this option and can update status the same way a manager would β€” including the signature/declaration screen if the defect requires one to be closed.

Assigning Defects and Work Orders

Drivers cannot assign defects to mechanics or create work orders β€” these are manager-only actions.

If your driver has elevated permissions and close a defect that has a linked work order, the work order will also be closed and you will see a confirmation screen before the update is applied.
