Which plan is Time Tracking on?
Time Tracking is part of the Shop Ops add-on, which requires a Pro subscription as a base. Talk to your Customer Success Manager to add it.
What happens to my timer if I mark the work order complete?
Completing a work order automatically stops any open timers at the completion time. You can't clock in to a completed work order.
Can two mechanics work on the same work order at once?
Yes. Multiple technicians can be clocked into the same work order simultaneously, each with their own time entry.
Can I run more than one timer at the same time?
No — you can have one active timer at a time. Starting a new one prompts you to stop the current timer first.
What if a mechanic forgets to clock out?
If the timer passes your stale threshold (default 8 hours) it's flagged in the Labor In Progress widget and the Stale Timers report, and an alert can be emailed. A manager can stop it and set the correct end time with a reason.
Will my mechanics see labor rates and cost?
Only if you allow it. With “Hide rates from mechanics” enabled, rate and cost are hidden for the Mechanic role across the app and in exports.
Does changing a labor rate change my past entries?
No. The rate used at clock-out is stored on each entry, so historical cost stays accurate when you update rates.
Are my existing manual labor hours affected?
No. Existing manual labor-hours entries stay as they are. A backfill to structured time entries is available on request.
