One condition (cost, asset, or team) and one outcome (require or skip approval). Statuses keep deciding whether approval applies; rules decide when that requirement reaches a specific work order.
Covered in the article:
Where the screen lives: Settings → Admin settings → Work orders → Approval rules, below Statuses. Shop Ops only
Creating a rule as a sentence: If [condition] · Then the work order will [outcome] · Save this rule as [active / inactive], with the name below
Cost conditions: work order total is more than, or is under, an amount — both strict, so exactly the amount matches neither
Asset conditions target individually selected assets, never an asset type; team conditions can select a parent and its sub-teams
Active and inactive rules, editing, duplicating, and the consequence-aware delete
Admin-only management; approvers are unchanged
The Approval rules screen under Settings › Work orders
Timing: a rule applies to work orders that enter an approval status after it is saved. Work orders already awaiting approval are not affected.
