Once you activate the Geotab integration for the first time it will automatically ask you to confirm that you want to import assets.

1. The Import Assets popup will show the number of assets that will be imported

2. Click Confirm button

3. Once complete, your Geotab assets should be imported to the asset page

You can link an existing Whip Around asset to the corresponding asset in Geotab. Doing so preserves all inspections, defects, and service records associated with the Whip Around asset while establishing the connection with Geotab—eliminating the need to import a new Geotab asset or migrate data. Follow the instructions below to achieve this:

1. Navigate to the Assets page > Select the asset that you wish to link

2. Ensure that the VIN number in the Whip Around asset matches the VIN in the Geotab asset

3. Once you have confirmed that the information is correct in both platforms, Go to the Whip Around platform > Select "+ Add asset" on the top right hand corner > Click on "Import from Geotab"

4. Follow the import process, and the asset in Whip Around should now be linked with the Geotab asset. A good way to tell if this has worked is, On the Whip Around platform > Go to the assets module > Click on the asset name > Look for an integrations tab on the asset detail view

Assets that are created in Geotab will automatically be added to Whip Around on an hourly basis.

If you would like to add new assets instantly you will need to perform a reimport.

1. On the Whip Around platform go to > Assets

2. Select "+ Add asset" on the top right hand corner > Click on "Import from Geotab"

3. Import Assets modal will popup showing the number of assets that will be imported

You will now instantly have up to date assets in the Whip Around platform.
