What’s New: Users are now able to assign a service program while creating a new asset within Whip Around.

On the asset profile page, you will now find a list of service programs that can easily be added to a new asset. Previously, users had to assign assets to a service program by manually going into each service program.

How to access the service program list while creating a new asset

1. On the Assets list page, click on the ‘+ Asset’ button and click on ‘single asset’ from the dropdown.

2. Either enter the VIN Number and click on the “Decode VIN” button or click on the “Don’t have a VIN” link.

3. Add all the required information for the asset and select the subscription type as “Maintain”. Once the subscription type is selected, a relevant service program list will be displayed.

4. Select the existing service program(s) that you'd like to apply to your new asset.

Note: a user can select multiple service programs for a single asset.

Once a service program is selected, the following text fields will be available to complete:

  • Last service mileage

  • Last service engine hours

  • Last service date

5. Click “Save” to create your new asset and apply your selected service programs.

Users can also add service programs to already existing assets by going to the asset profile page and selecting the relevant service programs.

The service programs list will only be enabled on an asset profile if the following conditions are met:

  • The user has permission to create a new asset and update service programs.

  • The subscription type of the asset being added is “Maintain” or “Maintain Lite”.

The service program list will be disabled in the following scenarios:

  • When the user has permission to add assets, but does not have permission to update the service program.

  • When an asset has the subscription type “Inspect” and “Inspect Lite”.
