Step 1:
Select the 'Maintenance' module > select 'Defects'.
Step 2:
Your list will indicate which defects have not yet been assigned under an ‘Assignee’ column
Step 3:
Assign a defect to a mechanic.
Click on ‘Actions’ -> Assign
From the Assign defect modal, choose from existing mechanic or ‘Add a new mechanic’ to assign a defect to
Assign a defect to a vendor -
Click on ‘Actions’ -> Assign
From the Assign defect modal, choose from existing Vendor or ‘Add a new contact under an existing vendor’ to assign a defect to that particular vendor contact.
Assign a defect to a third party -
Click on ‘Actions’ -> Assign
From the Assign defect modal, choose from an existing Third party or ‘Add a new third party ‘ to assign a defect to that particular third party.
Step 4:
The assigned mechanic/vendor or third party will receive an email from the Whip Around system with a link to view the Defect.
Once assigned, the mechanic/Vendor or third party can comment on the Defect, change the status of the Defect and upload documents (such as receipts or parts ordered, etc.) All comments and status changes are name, time and date stamped for compliance.
Changing an Assigned Mechanic/Vendor/Third party
Follow Step 1 above and select which Defect you need to reassign a mechanic/vendor or third party to.
